The new Sheik Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) has three hospitals spread over 300,000 square meters under one roof. The new medical complex will replace the prevailing Sheik Khalifa Medical City, which provides people with medical, pediatric and trauma care. Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) manages the facility. The existing Sheik Khalifa Medical City, managed by Cleveland Clinic, was established by a merger of public health providers in 2005.
This new medical complex with 838 beds includes a general hospital with a trauma center at level one and tertiary hospitals for women and children. After completion, it is expected to become the largest hospital in the country. The SKMC is the leading hospital in the UAE to achieve an Estidama rating of two Pearls that is identical to the LEED Gold certification by tapping into modern and productive designs and systems.
